The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) handed out payments through their Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged / Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program last September 6, 2024. It was headed by Municipal Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin P. De Guzman III. Also present were Sangguniang Bayan Member (SBM) Tanya Roberta A. De Guzman, Committee Chairperson on Social Welfare; Ms. Janet Mendoza, DOLE La Union TUPAD Focal Person; and Bauang Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Ms. Marvin G. Sandaga-Subala. 

The Office of Senator Loren Legarda very generously provided the amount that financed the pay-out. The pay-out had a total of 240 beneficiaries. They all received P4,350 each for P435/day. 

According to Ms. Subala, everytime someone finances the TUPAD, we are informing our Barangays so they can inform the workers.

This is only one of the programs in Bauang that assist our residents in securing decent livelihoods.
