Bauang, La Union | June 25-26, 2024

The Municipality of Bauang conducted a two-day training for its employees regarding four topics which were Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), Personnel Mechanism, Basic Customer Service, and Gender and Development. 75 employees attended the said training held at the People’s Hall, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWD). It was hosted by the Human Resources Management Office (HRMO) headed by Ms. Marvin G. Sandaga-Subala.

For the first day, the ARTA was discussed by Atty. Darwin P. Marcos and Engr. Rachelle Joy N. Dulagan. The ARTA is an office under the supervision of the Office of the President that is mandated to ensure ease of doing business among government agencies.

In the afternoon, the topic of Personnel Mechanism was discussed by Ms. Lisa P. Andres, CSEE. She discussed the five mechanisms or systems supervising the employees of the Municipality. She also discussed the 3Es (education, eligibility, and experience) and the 3Ms of Production (man, money, and machine).

On the second day, Mr. Jerwin Linsangan of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) discussed Basic Customer Service. He discussed the different types of customer personalities and how to handle them.

In the afternoon of the second day, Mr. Hedrich V. Calderon, Local Government Operations Officer (LGOO) II of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) discussed Gender and Development (GAD). In the course, he discussed the difference between sex (biology) and gender (societal expectations). He also discussed SOGIESC or Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sexual Characteristics.

In all of the courses, the participants were able to interact and learn with each other through group activities and open fora.
