CENTRAL  EAST, KNOWN AS THE “ HOME OF LEADERS “ IS A PEACEFUL, CLEAN AND PROSPEROUS COMMUNITY COMPOSED OF COOPERATIVE, INDUSTRIOUS, GOD-FEARING AND PEACE LOVING PEOPLE UNITED AND GEARED TOWARDS PROGRESS UNDER A CLEAN AND TRANSPARENT GOVERNANCE.

Barangay Central East came into existence when it was deemed necessary to subdivide into two such a wide territory of Bauang Central due to its large number of inhabitants. The eastern portion was given the name Barangay Central East and the western portion, Barangay Central West. The barangay officials through the leadership of the Punong Barangay are trying their best to make Barangay Central East attain its fullest development to become more effective partner in the attainment of the goals of our beloved town Bauang.

Central East, the second largest barangay of Bauang, La Union in terms of population, 3750 but the first in terms of barangay income, has a total land area of 96.16 hectares. It is bounded by Barangay Central West in the west; Brgy. Acao in the southeast; Brgy.San Agustin in the northeast; Brgy.Quinavite in the north; and Brgy.Calumbaya in the south. Agricultural land comprises 30% whereas the remaining 70% comprises the residential lands.

Agricultural products alone can cope up with the needs of the populace as a whole but some of these are transported to the nearly Public Market for sale. Many small-scale business also fine modest earnings in the barangay as evidenced by the existence of commercial establishment, Sari-Sari Stores, Mini Groceries and other single proprietorship.

Barangay Central East is usually the center of activities and celebration of the whole town of Bauang depicting our culture and traditions. The barangay roads are all concrete. This enables the farmers to bring their farm products easily to the market. Street lights were provided in all sectors even to the most remote area. It is in this barangay that the Roman Catholic Church, Municipal Auditorium, and the beautiful plaza are located. The educational institutions in this barangay are the Sacred Heart School, Bauang North Central School, St. Anthony Montessori, Sts. Peter and Paul Learning Center, UCCP Learning Center and the Barangay Day Care Center. The newly constructed Barangay Central East Multi-Purpose Hall is the major accomplishment of the Barangay Council. It is situated at the northwestern part of the Regional Trial Court ( BulwaganngKatarungan ). The cleanliness and beautification of Barangay Central East is being maintained by the Barangay Council, SK Council, BHW, BNS with the help of the Barangay Public Safety Officer ( BarangayTanod ) and some NGO members.
