Lanang, went through the validation of the Municipal Council for the Protection of Children (MCPC) on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

The validation is in line with the Memorandum Circular No. 2021-039 or the Comprehensive Guidelines for the Establishment, Strengthening, and Monitoring of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) issued by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for different levels of the government.

After the hour-long validation which required validators to assess a large amount of documentation that contained policies and programs aimed for children protection, the validators announced that the MCPC of Bauang earned a perfect score of 100%.

Specifically, the categories were: Organizational Sustainability (20%), Policies and Plans (30%), Budget for the MCPC (20%), and Service Delivery Monitoring and Management for the Children (30%).

The validators were Ms. Renerose A. Beninsig, from Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), Mr. Hedrich V. Calderon and Mr. Art Anthony Umel from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Ms. Zenaida D. Sellem, from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Ms. Mae A. Mayor Martin De Guzman thanked the validators and affirmed the commitment of the MSWDO and the LYDO. He stated that “the more we give, the more we receive,” pointing out to his fellow leaders’ commitment to the people of Bauang.

This achievement reflects our government leaders’ commitment in delivering top-notch public service, especially for one of the vulnerable sectors of our population, our children.
