The Tournament Organizer was Mr. Daniel Casil, Jr. and the Chief Arbiter was Mr. Teddy Sarmiento.

Hon. Raymund C. Ganaden, Sangguniang Bayan Member (SBM) and Committee Chairperson on Sports, provided the Welcome Message where he cheerfully remarked, “May the best player win!” Municipal Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin P. De Guzman III delivered his Yuletide Message.

After their warm messages, Mayor De Guzman and Mr. Casil opened the event with their Ceremonial First Move.

Other SBMs who graced the event were: Hon. Edgar B. Beninsig, Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) President, Hon. Donny Ceazar D. Baradi, and Hon. Tanya Roberta A. De Guzman.

Also present in the event to oversee its smooth operation were Mr. Wilson Samuel C. Caluza, Administrator for Operations, and the officers of the Municipal Information and Tourism Office (MITO), headed by Mr. Ricardo A. Navarro, Jr.

The participants came from the different provinces of the Philippines which include: Bataan, La Trinidad, Baguio City, Pangasinan, Quezon City, Ilocos Sur, and Caloocan.

Again, congratulations to the winners and especially the participants who came in from the different provinces of the Philippines. May this be the start of a yearly celebration of minds in the field of chess, only here in Bauang.
