The magic of the holiday season came alive on December 4, 2024 as the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bauang hosted its much-anticipated Christmas Lighting Ceremony at the Bauang Plaza. The evening was a heartwarming celebration, bringing together families, friends, and the community to bask in the glow of festive lights and holiday spirit.
The event kicked off with live performances from the Bauang North Central School (BNCS) Drum & Lyre Corps (Opening Salvo), the Bauang Baggak Grand Chorale (Preliminaries), and the Coro Eulogiano (intermission), setting a merry tone for the evening. The event was opened by Ms. Rowena Calica, Municipal Consultant for Tourism. Attendees were treated to melodious carols and a heartwarming speech from Municipal Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin P. De Guzman III which was delivered by Mr. Wilson Samuel C. Caluza (Administrator for Operations), who emphasized the importance of unity, hope, and sharing during this magical season.
The highlight of the night was the Simultaneous Christmas Lighting Ceremony. As the countdown began, the excitement in the crowd was palpable. At the strike of 7:00pm, the venue transformed into a winter wonderland with the Fireworks Display, the sparkling white lights, and the Snow Show generously provided by Dunkin’ Donuts Bauang. Children were especially mesmerized by the magic of the Snow Show, making the event a core memory to cherish.
Beyond the lights, the event featured the Bauang Cafeterium which had food stalls serving festive treats. It was opened by the Ceremonial Ribbon-Cutting led by the Municipal Officials.
The candidates of Mutia ti Bauang 2025 was presented together with the reigning Mutia ti Bauang 2024, Charisse Pauline P. Calderon.
For the final part, Bauangeños chilled and vibed to the beats of DJ Venlee (sponsored by Smart).
LGU Bauang expressed gratitude to the sponsors (Converge, DITO, Smart, Jollibee, and Dunkin’ Donuts), the media (Love Radio and Radyo Pilipinas Agoo), volunteers, and attendees who made the event possible. This celebration is a reminder of the joy that comes when we come together as a community.
The Christmas Lighting Event was not just a celebration of the season but a moment to reflect on the year and look forward to the new one with hope and positivity. It reminded everyone of the importance of love, togetherness, and the magic of shared moments.
