“Bonifacio was born on November 30, 1863 in Manila. He is known as the “Father of the Philippine Revolution” for founding the Katipunan, a secret society that led the fight for independence from Spanish rule in 1896.”
“Bonifacio established the Katipunan in 1892 which then transformed into a government on August 24, 1896, and Bonifacio was its president, way before Emilio Aguinaldo was even declared President in 1899.”
On behalf of Mayor Martin, Hon. Tanya Roberta A. De Guzman, SBM, delivered her message, in which she urged everyone to honor Andres Bonifacio’s heroism by contributing to our Municipality’s development.
The wreath-laying ceremony was led by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and was participated by the Members of the Sangguniang Bayan and Municipal Department Heads.
For the final part, Hon. Myrna U. Ligas, SBM, delivered the closing remarks in which she expressed regret on ancient and modern-day betrayal. She encouraged everyone to help others in any way we can so as to be heroes in our own way and to honor Andres Bonifacio.
