A Seminar on Maternal and Child Health Care was conducted earlier today, Friday, October 18, 2024 at the Bauang North Central School (BNCS) Sports Complex. The Seminar was organized by the Office of Senator Pia S. Cayetano, in partnership with the Municipal Government of Bauang, La Union, headed by Municipal Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin P. De Guzman III. The participants were pregnant women and Barangay Health Workers (BHW).

Present in the Seminar were:

officials and employees from the Local Government Unit of Bauang, namely:
Mr. Wilson Samuel C. Caluza, Administrator for Operations,
Ms. Korina Esteban-Ma, Information Officer,
Mr. Cris Jaime A. Balbuena, Municipal Photographer,
Dr. Erwill O. Nunan, Municipal Health Officer,
Ms. Stephanie Gatchalian, Medical Technologist;
and others.

After the preliminaries, Dr. Nunan and Mayor De Guzman delivered their messages. Mayor De Guzman pointed out that Bauang has the second highest population in La Union, second to San Fernando City, and is Top 1 in Economic Dynamism in Region 1, making it easier for pregnant women and children to receive assistance.

In her seminar about maternal and child health care, Dr. Eustaquio delivered information from pregnancy to postpartum, including medical complications at each stage, and the importance of pre-natal vitamins, primarily folic acid.

For the final part, the guests were awarded with tokens of appreciation from the Municipal Mayor’s Office (MMO), for partnering with Bauang to deliver vital information about maternal and child health care.
