The Family Day Celebration in the Municipality of Bauang, headed by Municipal Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin P. De Guzman III, commenced on September 18, 2024 at the Bauang North Central School (BNCS) Sports Complex. It was established by the Ordinance No. 2023-36 authored by Hon. Felix P. Sanchez, Sangguniang Bayan Member (SBM).

Present were Hon. Myrna U. Ligas who provided the Statement of Purpose, and other officials and employees from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bauang. The participants were representatives from the different Barangays of Bauang. The invited speakers were Ms. Sharyn Sumalag Bayong, from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO); Dr. Julius B. Malicdem, Director of Universal Peace Federation; Dr. Ron R. Larioque, President of Greater Good Achievers’ Training and Development Services.

According to Dr. Malicdem, there are three (3) pillars of well-being, namely:
“Relationships, values, and meaningful purpose.” Dr. Larioque lectured about emotional intelligence in the family, and advised about giving time for family members.

In addition to the program, to celebrate Hon. Sanchez’s birthday, there was a raffle draw for the following prizes:

Ten Family Day T-Shirts

There was a contest for Essay-Writing and Poster-Making Contests. The judges were:

Mayor Martin De Guzman delivered his message in the afternoon. He said, “The family is the basic unit of our community. I have shown you a family that wants peace, love, and kindness.”
