Political Neutrality was the Value for the Week for the Flag-Raising Ceremony last September 2, 2024 at the Bauang North Central School (BNCS) Sports Complex. The host for the Ceremony was the Sangguniang Bayan Members, with Hon. Felix P. Sanchez being the Master of the Ceremony. It was also the opening of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) 2024.

Present were the Sangguniang Bayan Members, Municipal officials and employees, and line agencies. Hon. Felix P. Sanchez reminded everyone present about the Family Day on September 18, 2024. Hon. Tanya Roberta A. De Guzman discussed the value, Political Neutrality. She said, “Hindi natin pinipili ang pagsisilbihan natin.” (We don’t choose who we serve.) Kapag kayo’y sumumpa na, wala na kayong kulay. (Once we take the oath, we don’t have political colors anymore.)

After the preliminaries, there was a recitation of oath of the PCL by the Sangguniang Bayan Members, led by Hon. Bonifacio “Kit” A. Malinao, Jr.

Afterwhich, the awarding of the following proceeded:

Philippine National Police (PNP) PLT Nieve Liza M. Chano, Certificate of Appreciation

Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) for being granted an Isuzu Firetruck in San Juan, La Union for its 33rd Anniversary

Persons with Disability (PWDs) for the National Disability Rights Week 2024 at Vigan City, Ilocos Sur

For the final part, Municipal Vice Mayor Henry A. Bacurnay, Jr. and Municipal Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin P. De Guzman III delivered their messages. Vice Mayor Bacurnay congratulated the PCL members, and said that under his leadership, during meetings and hearings, one Member should speak about anything under the sun, especially about Bauang. Mayor De Guzman congratulated Bauang for ranking first in Region I for the category, Economic Dynamism and reminded everyone about electing good leaders and continuing the improvement our work habits.
