The Flag-Raising Ceremony last August 19, 2024 was hosted by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) headed by Ms. Arlie R. Alonzo, RSW.
The values formation for the week was Justness and Sincerity, expounded by Hon. Rich Carlo A. Barnachea, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) President.
The MSWDO presented their Accomplishment Report with the quote, “To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity,” by Douglas Adams.
After the preliminaries, the following awards were given:
DSWD Certificate of Recognition given to Local Government of Bauang, La Union for achieving 99% accomplishment of the Social Pension Program payout for the 1st semester of CY 2024. Given August 9, 2024 at Ynad’s Place Hotel and Resort, City of San Fernando, La Union.
DOT Certificate of Appreciation to LGU Bauang in recognition of their exceptional efforts in promoting DOT accreditation by actively encouraging tourism entities to certify their businesses thereby enhancing the quality and standards of the tourism sector during the provincewide mobile accreditation caravan held on April 12-19, 2024. Given this 19th Day of August 2024 in the City of San Fernando, La Union.
The International Youth Day was also launched by the Local Youth Development Officer (LYDO) Mr. Jovan P. Lanang under the MSWDO with the theme, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.” Hon. Rich Carlo A. Barnachea and the Presidents of Student Governments from different secondary schools in Bauang led the launching. The LYDO will be launching the Linggo ng Kabataan, slated to be held on August to September 2024, which will bolster the youth’s talents and enhance their participation in society.
For the last part of the Ceremony, Vice Mayor Henry A. Bacurnay, Jr. provided his message about Justness and Sincerity.
