In line with the celebration of Kalgaw Festival, the Municipality of Bauang, under the leadership of Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin P. De Guzman III and Vice Mayor Henry A. Bacurnay, Jr., together with the members of the Sangguniang Bayan conducted Oplan Blue Revolution: Simultaneous Coastal and River Clean-up and Zumbasura at the beach of Baccuit Sur, Bauang, April 27, 2024, at 6:00 AM.

Participants from different entities (Line Agencies, Municipal Officials and Employees, Barangays, Non-Government Organizations, and Schools) participated in the Zumba and the Clean-up Drive.

Participants engaged in a lively Zumba session, set to the rhythm of popular songs, which commenced at approximately 6:00 AM and concluded around 7:00 AM. Following the energizing activity, Mr. Marc Alvin Garcia, Officer-in-Charge of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), addressed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of the Oplan Blue Revolution program. He also shared this year’s theme, “Sustaining Water, Sustaining Life,” aligning with World Water Day’s objective of highlighting the crucial role of water in human existence and advocating for sustainable water management practices.”

“Water problems are not just about water. It’s a problem of Life. It’s a problem of ENVIRONMENT. It’s a problem of HEALTH. Let’s rethink how we value water. Do the earth a favor. Be a water saver.”

Subsequently, Hon. Felix P. Sanchez, SB Committee on Environment and Solid Waste Management delivered his Welcome Remarks, conveying a message from Mayor Martin P. De Guzman III. This was followed by a message from Vice Mayor Hon. Henry A. Bacurnay Jr.
